IIJ Acquires ISO/IEC 27017:2015 Certification for “IIJ Social Collaboration HUB” and “STRIGHT”

TOKYO - December 9, 2025 - Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (TSE Prime: 3774), one of Japan's leading Internet access and comprehensive network solutions providers, today announced its acquisition of ISO/IEC 27017:2015(*) certification on December 4, 2025, recognizing conformance of two more of its services to the international standard on information security controls in the provision of cloud services. The newly certified services are the multi-professional coordination platform "IIJ Social Collaboration HUB" and the cookie consent management tool "STRIGHT." This certification is attestation by a third-party organization that the information security controls for the cloud services provided by IIJ are in accordance with the code of practice given in ISO/IEC 27017:2015.

  • (*) ISO/IEC 27017:2015: An international standard giving guidelines for cloud service security controls, issued in 2015 based on guidelines published by Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). It includes security controls to be implemented by cloud service providers and users, respectively. The Japanese Government also recommends its use as a basis for determining the reliability of cloud network services.

The services for which accreditation has been received this time are the following.

IIJ Social Collaboration HUB

This "multi-professional coordination platform" connects professionals who support community life, including medical, welfare, nursing care, education and public administration professionals. Since provision began in 2017, in addition to home medical, nursing care, and child support, its use has expanded to disasters response, such as helping people needing assistance and sharing emergency information. Today it is used by more than 28,000 professionals in 76 municipalities throughout Japan. Combining secure communication functions with data-sharing capability, this cloud service meets a wide range of community needs.

STRIGHT

Since October 2024, this cookie consent management tool has been available as a service that discloses information transparently to website users and provides the opportunity to manage consent to collect and use cookies, without reducing site usability or damaging the product or service brand. While properly protecting user privacy, it solves the problems that can occur in obtaining cookie consent such as turning away site visitors or harming the corporate image.
